Default Haircoloring Products

I was just wondering if you girls dye your hair at salons or you do it yourself at home.

Either way, please share what brands you use for coloring your hair and any feedback you have!

I used to have highlights a few years ago, done at the salon. I may do it again.

^ Interesting...I've never heard of it but I'll research

I use LuoColor by L'Oreal Professionnel and I LOVE IT! Very shiny and it plies on the natural reflexes of the hair...

I usually dye it at home, but once in a while i'll go to the salon. Usually, I leave going to the salon for highlights.

^ I've never heard of it. From what I knew in the USA popular salon brands are L'Oreal Professionnel, Matrix and Goldwell...

My opinion is that it's always best to dye your hair in the salon as those people are professionals and they can achieve something that we don't know how at home. At home you take a coloring product and apply it directly...There's no one to advice you on whether that color will come out right...cuz we don't know the reflexes (what diminishes what...). Plus, in the salon you always get a personalized color as the hairstylist usually work on combining colors...It's a lot safer and healthier for the hair to go to a salon ...

Mostly is salons here you see: Kerastase, Bumble and Bumble, Aveda, Wella. I also do agree about having your color done by a professional.

I don't color for that exact reason. No one know what the best product is, and when they think they do it's may only be right for them. I don't want to experiment on my hair.

^It's not about the product 100% but about the expertise of your colorist. What damages the hair is not the color product itself but the type of oxidant that they use (whether it's 6%, 9% or 12%).
